To put the restrictions on liquids on the plane to leave my carry-on bag rather sparse for a long flight ahead lotion and toothpaste have missed. Does anyone have any creative ideas for a stay at a comfortable LONG international flight under the new restriction of access?

Get a window seat.
If you feel a little gassy and the lines to the bathroom are too long, just release it. You will feel so relieved and no one will know who did it anyway.
bring an ipod full of you fav songs and a good book or two. i also brought some over the counter medicine to help me sleep so i could make up for the time change since we left in the late morning from the states and ended up in rome the next morning italy time. so it helped the ol’ inner clock to get some z’s. plus, if you put some soft music on your ipod, it will help keep some annoying sounds out while you sleep. for the long flight and small spaces, i dressed very comfortably. shoes that came off easily, yoga pants and a layer of tank top, tshirt and light jacket. that way i could layer as needed.
I’ve flown LONG international flights for years and have never had the urge to use toothpaste or lotion in flight, but them I’m male.
No matter what you do, you are going to look and feel haggard at the end of the flight. Just lay back and relax.
Think about what you would like to do if you had the time, limiting your choices to what can be done on an airplane.
For sleep, pills might help.
To read, bring two books in case one is lousy, but make them paperbacks – weight sucks.
For music, an ipod works if you have one. The airlines have in-flight music, but chances are their earphones don’t work.
You can get lucky and the in-flight movie may interest you, but don’t count on it and ditto the earphones.
When all else fails, tell your secrets to that handsome dude sitting next to you.
That’ll be me.

The new restrictions haven’t changed my flying comfort. Other than chapstick, I’ve never needed any liquids, gels or rollon deodorant while in flight.
But I would suggest you slather yourself with your favorite lotion before you go through security.
And they now sell a teethcleaning sponges – Toothettes
