    me and my bros had a field trip here when we were in forth grade and we coiled rope raised a sail and lifted a 160 pound barrel. we toured the ship too it was fun this reminded me of it

    So, this is the Pilgrim! I am reading Dana’s Two Years Before the Mast and seeing the actual ship ( well a reproduction) is a treat. I must get down to Dana Point and walk aboard!

    I really hope more kids can experience what I did, that was definitely a wonderful experience. Kids these days need more cool field trips like this one!

    You’re probably right! The ship has been here for a while. I think they have a really great program here for students. Hoping my kids can do it one day!

    Wow, I took a trip on a boat (I think it was this boat) when I was in 5th grade! Awesome memory. I remember my bed :3
    I’m pretty sure it was that exact ship!
