I desperately want my boys in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, to visit only a short train ride from Budapest, Hungary. I can not afford air travel, which I find at all online sites. Does anyone have suggestions for cheap travel? I need the total fare to $ 1000 or less.

Magyar? Try the cruise lines for a one-way transatlantic voyage. It would not take you to Romania, but you could board a train once you reach Europe. The ship would probably go to the Mediterranean port.
