Plane tickets are pretty expensive during the summer months. It also doesn’t help that the price of oil is high and that airlines are cutting capacity.
I would recommend that you look on-line to see how much a vacation package is to Mexico. The vacation package includes hotel, airfare and sometimes car rental. Since you pay 1 flat rate, if you don’t want to use the hotel portion, then don’t show up. Sometimes people find the vacation package cheaper than if they buy just a regular airplane ticket.
