Anybody has tips about travel by Amtrak from Boston to Toronto?

I live in Brazil and I’m going to Boston in October. Everyone has any tips or information about this route? I think travel by train for four days, including sleeping on the train, knowing just to walk a few cities like Buffalo and Toronto. Could you help me with this idea? Or is this a good idea? TKS!

Truthfully if you book the flights early enough, it may be less expensive to fly to Toronto from Boston. Amtrak also doesn’t go direct from Boston to Toronto. You can travel from Boston to New York City to get an Amtrak train that goes to Toronto. Toronto is a beautiful city and I highly recommend going there.

Flying JetBlue from Boston to Buffalo is much cheaper than the train.

If you want the train experience, fly from Boston to Chicago and take the California Zephyr from Chicago to San Francisco. You get two fantastic and very different cities, and the best scenery in the US. The route goes through the wheat fields of the the American Heartland, the majestic Rocky Mountains, the high desert of the West, and the Great Valley and Sierra Nevada of California.

Or go to NYC, light-years better than Buffalo.

If you want to take the train without going to NYC (why go south to go north?)., you could take the Lake Shore Limited (Late fer Sure Limited) to Albany, NY or a station between there and Buffalo, NY., then you’d need to change trains to the Maple Leaf to Toronto. Comparatively expensive but I want to do it myself sometime especially during the foliage season!
